TCA9617B: TCA9617B

Part Number: TCA9617B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA9517

Hi,

I have a question of how to use the I2C TCA9617B voltage translator.

I need, that the slave side should be connected to VCC from 1.8V to 5V.

Since the VCCB side provides 2.2V to 5V, my question is:

Could I connect the VCCB side to the master and VCCA side to the slave.

I have only one slave at a time, and it can work with different voltagies.

Thank you

  • Hey Emil,

What voltage is the master side at?

Why was TCA9617B chosen? (Do you need the 1MHz support or would TCA9517 which supports 400kHz be okay?)

TCA9617B has voltage rules which state B side should always be greater or equal to A side. TCA9517 doesn't have this restriction so I'm wondering if you don't need the 1MHz support then we could use TCA9517.
