TUSB1046EVM: SSTX(USB Micro-B connector) <--> SSTX (TUSB1046) or SSTX(USB Micro-B connector) <--> SSRX (TUSB1046)

Part Number: TUSB1046EVM

Hi Sir

I have one question about TUSB1046EVM(INT053 Rev B).

In SPEC, the application circuit shows SSTX(USB Micro-B connector) <--> SSTX (TUSB1046)

                                                            SSRX(USB Micro-B connector) <--> SSRX (TUSB1046)

However, EVM shows SSTX(USB Micro-B connector) <--> SSRX (TUSB1046)

So I'm a little confused about this.

Thanks so much!

  • Hi,

    The application circuit shows the TUSB1046 connection to a host while the EVM shows the connection to a Micro-B connector, both are correct.

    It is best to look at the TUSB1046 Pin Functions table and the I/O definition. The SSTX is being defined as an input and the SSRX is being defined as an output.

    The Micro-B connector and host SSTX/SSRX are being defined as shown below.

    Thanks

    David

  • Hi David

    Understood! Thanks a lot!

    BTW, why does SSTXnp & SSRXnp define as upstream facing port and RXnp/TXnp define as Downstream Facing port?

    As far as I know, DFP is the Host side and UPF is the device side.  Thanks again!!
