Hello,

We are designing a LTE enodeB based on TI's K2K processor TMS320TCI6638. We were using DP83867 for copper interface via SGMII on MAC side (K2K supports SGMII). We have requirement for fiber interface. so we are using DP83869..But the datasheet says..the interface of RGMII on MAC side..Whereas the K2K is of SGMII interface. Kindly advice how to go about the fiber interface for TI's K2K processor TMS320TCI6638 with DP83869.

Hi Sumathi,

You will need to use 2xDP83869 in following way.

TMS320-SGMII <==> SGMII- [DP8369-in Bridge Mode ]- RGMII - <===> RGMI - [DP83869 as RGMII to 1000Base-FX] - 1000Base-FX.

Thanks for the reply.

Had seen the scheme you had suggested in datasheet.. but want to confirm from TI. so i had posted the query.

We are updating our design with two IC's.. Request to kindly share your official email-id..so once we are done with the circuit we will send to you for review.

As we have tight timelines, we would expect the design to work without any issues. So request your support.
