TIOL111: why there is a need of two supply inputs.?

Part Number: TIOL111

why do we need two supply inputs 3V3 and 24V0 for this PHY?

and when does this VCC_IN/OUT source and sink current??

  • Hi Harsh,

The 24-V supply is the primary one that powers the higher-voltage circuitry such as the high-side/low-side switches, receiver comparator, etc.  The lower-voltage VCC_IN input is just used to power the digital IOs.  This is present so that the TIOL111 can maintain voltage-level compatibility with low-voltage logic devices like MCUs.  Please let us know if this doesn't make sense.
