THVD1550: Termination / pull up and pull down resistor

Part Number: THVD1550

Hi,

My customer would like to know if Termination resistor or Pull -up / down resistor are required. The cable length requirement is under 3cm.

EVM schematic use Termination resistor but it support 100m cable length.

Could you please give me advice if under 3cm cable is require termination or pull-up/down resistor? If they are required, could you please let me know the resistance value?

Regards,
Nagata.

  • Shunsuke-san,

The termination is applied to minimize the reflection therefore help the signal integrity. On the other hand signal quality is impacted by several factors, like the data rate, cable quality, etc. After the signal quality is checked in the system, you can make the decision if the termination needs to be populated.
