PCA9306-Q1: Can I use same voltage level at Vref and Vdpu?

Part Number: PCA9306-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCA9306,

Hi Experts,

I searched E2E and found that the industrial PCA9306 can support Vref1 = Vdpu, does it also apply to the automotive PCA9306-Q1? Can I use two different power rails but with the same voltage level to power Vref1 and Vdpu respectively? For example, 1.8V_1 to power Vref1 and 1.8V_2 to power Vdpu. Thank you.

  • Hi Arie,

Yes you can set up the automotive PCA9306 in that way. The device will basically be a switch at that point instead of a level translator.

I would suggest getting a schematic review of your set up when you are finished laying out the schematic. Feel free to post the schematic here, in a new thread, or email to duynguyen@ti.com
