Hello,

I have question about DP83867 need your help ,thanks.

I am planning to use DP83867 for PTP grandmaster application.

Should I give Pulse per second (PPS) signal to GPIO1 or GPIO2 pins to improve the accuracy?

Will it accept the PPS signal and improve the accuracy?

Will it work for both 1 step and 2 step clock updates?

Hi Charles,

The DP83867CR does not offer hardware time-stamping. The GPIOs will not be able to accept a PPS signal. Alternatively you may want to use the DP83640 or the DP83630 for the hardware time stamping feature.

The DP83867CR does offer start of frame detection. Please review Section 8.3.2.1 SFD Latency Variation and Determinism in the datasheet.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

You have suggested 10/100Mbps phy chip. But we are looking for 10/100/1000Mbps with PTP hardware time stamping feature.
