DP83848K: Basic question about RX_ER pin

Hi,

Let me ask you a basic question about RX_ER pin as below.

Q1) I understood that "RX_ER" pin is "option" pin for user. (It is not mandatory to use/connect ..)

Is my understanding correct?

Q2) And I also understood that under RX_ER is asserted(=High state), we can not do data communication.

Is this correct?

Hi Takumi,

To answer your questions:

1. You are correct RX_ER pin is optional.

2. RX_ER is asserted high upon a receive error. This will not cause an interrupt in communication.
