SN65DSI83: Regarding htotal and vtotal

Part Number: SN65DSI83
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DSI-TUNER,
Dear I.K.
Thank you for your response yesterday.
I have confirmed how to generate HS and VS, yesterday.
I thought from yesterday's answer.
In DSI-Tuner, htotal, hfp, vtltal, vfp are input.
However, the register map of SN65DSI83 does not have the registers of htotal, hfp, vtotal, vfp.
So I don't think that I'm using it to generate LVDS output HS and VS.
Is my understanding correct?
Sincerely,
  • Hi Sakai,

Correct. The device has it's own way of doing these things and is not something you really need to worry about. It's rather complicated, and that's why we have the DSI-Tuner. All you need to do is fill out the DSI-Tuner according to the instructions in the video I sent previously to generate the register settings. And if you follow the initialization sequence in the datasheet as well as ensure that the output from your DSI source matches what you put into the DSI-Tuner, then you should not have any issues.

    Regards,

    I.K.

  • Dear I.K.
I have confirmed that my understanding is correct.
    Thank you very much.
