Hi Sir,

 My customer need VBUS short protection function in super speed signal trace. TPDXS300 series can't protect SS signal. Is there any solution to protect SS trace on type-c application?

    Hi Gary - 

    We do not currently have an ESD protection device to handle short-to-VBUS conditions, but are developing a device for this. We expect that it will be ready to sample around 3Q21.

    Can you share the maximum VBUS voltage you need?

    Hi Richard,

     Generally it's 20V on VBUS.  Or any solution have limited performance loss in 10G signal application but can protect 20V signal?

    Hello Gary,

    Currently, the only devices we have that will protect a 20V signal are TVS2200 and TVS2201 flat-clamp surge protection devices. However, these devices have a have high capacitances, so the insertion loss would be too large for a 10 Gbps signal application. However, if there are no short-to-VBUS events, ESD122 is what we currently recommend for our USB Type-C solutions.
