DS90UB960-Q1: DS90UB960 unlock can't detect camera

Hi exper,

customer use 906 with 953and 933, someboards can;t detect camera, and unlock. they test it under the camera is powered by external instead of POC.

I summriez the issue and post customer schematic, layout. can you give suggestions. plese see the detal in PPT. thanks

    Hi Betty,

    Is the unlock issue for both 953 and 933? Are they seeing intermittent lock? Or just no lock at all?

    Typically we recommend routing the Rin+/- differentially and terminating Rin- near the connector. The unlock issue may or may not be related to layout, but I'd like to get more clarity on the lock behavior they're seeing.

    yes, both 953 and 933. for unlock behavior, I need double check with customer and feedback to you

    in addtional, we have other questions in the ppt file:

    1. Does the REFCLK must be later than power supply? Does is may cause unlock?

    2. In customer design, there have stub routing between POC to FPDLINK. But, datasheet say should be avoid stub, does it have impact for unlock?

    Hi Betty,

    1. Yes, we suggest keeping REFCLK low until all supplies are stable.

    2. Yes, it will impact your return loss. We suggest backdrilling vias and add anti pads to mitigate this.
