DS90UB941AS-Q1: Serializer break down

Hi,

We made custom board with DS90UB941AS-Q1 serializer. I attached a schematic.

FPDLink-III works in fully differential mode with two deserializers DS90UB926Q-Q1. Device works properly, but a few times with different boards serializer was broken down. We resoldered serializer on boards and all worked fine again. We damaged three serializers: two on board#1 and one on board#2. I cann't understood, what's wrong? I checked power supply ripples - it's about 25 mV. I didn't use any ESD protection, may be fail's cause in that? Can you help me?

Hi Maxim,

What was damaged on the 941AS?

On your schematic you do not have a cap on PDB. is it on another page of your schematic or is the PDB held low at power up to meet the power up requirements?

Have you ensured all of your components have the proper voltage rating?

Hi, Michael

IC not answer via I2C at all after damaged. I can send you full schematic. PDB signal connected to PG of TPS7A8901RTJ. All capacitors have proper voltage rating, resistors not heated.

Hi Maxim,

Can you check and make sure your power up sequence follows the "Power-Up and Initialization" section of the datasheet with a scope?
