DP83867CR: bad values (Device-ID)

Hi Loannis,

In the case where you get a bad value for the device id, are you able to connect via a different PHY id or not at all?

Also is rx_clk observed in all cases? And is register access still available in all cases?

Sorry for my late answer, we were out of office due to orthodox Easter.

The latest report we had from our client was that  "it seems like firmware works good, if device is connected to pc while start / power on,
but stable NO-connection (ip.adr based, no dhcp) if ethernet wire is unplug + plugged-again, while device is powered. Various reset-timings (longer/shorter) tried."

Seems like cable unplugging and loss of connection is detected by firmware which tries to reset the device but the device doesn't seem to recover.

Can you confirm whether this is a cable link issue or an MAC connection issue?

I have the following follow-up questions:

1. Before plugging in the cable to the PHY is there an rx_clk signal and what is the frequency you are measuring?
2. Are FLP signals observed on the MDI?
3. After plugging in the cable is there a stable link?
4. After holding the device in reset, does the link recover?
5. What is Vil level when trying to initiate a reset? Does it meet the Vil requirements listed in the datasheet?
