Hi Nagesh,
Are you able to share a schematic for review? This will help me better understand your issue.
Kind Regards,
Joe

Hi Joe,
I got inputs from HW team for some of your questions I think. I am attaching schematic also. Here are some questions.
Our query is, strapping is the only mode of configuration ? Cannot we put this device into 100Mbps mode using SW configuration ? Is there any limitation of the device ? Please suggest..
Currently we have connected all the 4 Pairs, should we connect only 2 pair for the 100Mbps ?
With Regards,
Nagesh
Hi Nagesh,
Strapping is not the only mode of configuration. I suggest you reference section 9.4.8.5 100M Media Convertor Mode to configure the device for 100Mbps mode via register access (SW).
After configuring register 0x01DF for your specific MDI, perform the following operations.
• Write 0x1140 to register 0x0000
• Write 0x5048 to register 0x0010
As far as the 4 pairs, two of the pairs will be unused but will not impact your design when operating in 100Mbps mode.
Kind Regards,
Joe
