Having the inputs and outputs P M M P makes it very inconvenient to connect. Is it possible to connect as P M P M on both sides and have the signals function properly?
Best regards,
Stuart Borden.
Hi Stuart,
Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in ISO7820LL.
INx+ and INx- pins are designed identically and balanced and hence, it is possible to use them interchangeably. But since this is not something we have specifically tested for, we wouldn't be able to guarantee 100% reliable operation. I would recommend you to evaluate sufficiently with the approach you are considering and if the performance is satisfactory, then you may go ahead with that approach. Let me know if you have any further questions, thanks.

I will go ahead and try. It is for a low-speed system (48MHz) so I would not expect much trouble.
Thanks.
Hi Stuart,
Thanks for considering to test the device.
I would like to emphasize that INB+ and INB- are interchangeable and when that is done, OUTB+ and OUTB- also need to be correspondingly changed. When the polarities are swapped, the default state is also going to be inverted. i.e., the default output state for ISO7820LL is HIGH while when inputs / outputs positive and minus pins are are interchanged, the default output state will become LOW due to signal inversion. Thanks.
