ISO7731: Difference to ISO7131

Part Number: ISO7731

Is there any functional difference between ISO7131 and iso7731?

  • Hi Kent,

Welcome to TI E2E forum and thank you for your interest in TI digital isolators.

Functionally both ISO7131 and ISO7731 are the same, both isolate digital data channels in same channel configurations. But they both belong to different generations of devices and employ different design architecture. ISO7731 is a newer generation reinforced isolation device that offers significantly superior performance over the older generation ISO7131 basic isolation device.

If you are planning to replace ISO7131 with ISO7731 in your existing designs, this should be fine. If you are trying to decide between a device for newer design, I recommend you choosing ISO7731. Let me know if you have any questions, thanks.
