SN6505A: Inductor Selection

Hi expert,

May I know what's the design consideration for the inductor of Voltage-uSecond spec? Is 40 must needed? What we typical see this parameter is 10~24.

    Hi Allan, 

    To prevent saturation of the transformer, it is recommended to have transformer with a VT-product larger than what is provided by the device. Please refer to 9.2.2.5 Transformer Selection for more details.

    40Vus should be sufficient for the SN6505A. It is preferable to exceed the minimum Vt-product with some headroom to account for part-to-part variations in the transformer.
