ISO7721-Q1: Electromagnetic immunity level

Part Number: ISO7721-Q1

Hello TI,

The ISO7721-Q1 datasheet mentions "The ISO772x devices provide high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions at low power consumption, while isolating CMOS or LVCMOS digital I/Os". So what is known about this high electromagnetic immunity? for example related to EN 61000-4-3?

  • Hi Anjana,

Thank you for reaching out and showing interest in ISO7721-Q1.

High electromagnetic immunity refers to many high performance of isolation barrier against many EMI noise and transient tests. These include Surge, ESD, EFT, radiated immunity among others.

To your question on radiated immunity performance according to the standard EN 61000-4-3, ISO7721-Q1 meets Level 3 (10 V/m) which is the most common requirement that we see from customers. Please do also note that, the actual performance depends on the overall end-equipment and how it is shielded. In a lot of cases, we see customers reporting much higher performance than 10V/m at end-equipment level.

Let me know if you have any other questions related to ISO7721-Q1, thanks.
