Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS40050, TPS40060, TPS40170

Hello,

I am a engineer from Hyundai Motors. and I am working in converter department.

But we have some problems to improve our DC-DC converter.

We now use TPS40060 that is not for automotive.  So we checked TPS40050 that have too low input-voltages to use our system(40v).

We need to input over 60 Voltages.

The belows are our questions.

1) TPS40170 is for automotive? I heard that part is going to be certificated for automotive.

2) I know LM5117Q that is for automotive, but I don't know that is possible to be provided. is it available to be provided from TI?

3) Except parts that i mentioned, Could you reccomend Buck Converter IC with over 60 Voltage of input ??

 

We are looking forward to find solutions as soon as possible !

    Please answer the following questions:

    1- What is the output voltage and load current?

    2- What is the switching Frequency?

    3- Is input voltage 60V a steady state or transient?

    4- What is the output voltage requirement at Vin = 60V?

    5- Input voltage is higher than 60V. What is the peak and duration?

    Answers.

    1- What is the output voltage and load current?  - 13 V & 12 A

    2- What is the switching Frequency? - Don't care

    3- Is input voltage 60V a steady state or transient?  - 18~32 V : steady state,  60V transient

    4- What is the output voltage requirement at Vin = 60V? - 13V

    5- Input voltage is higher than 60V. What is the peak and duration?  - We use this device after TVS actually SM8S33A(vishey), you can easily check from this device's data sheet.

     

    add, I questioned about LM5117Q for being provided to meet our mass production. thanks for quick reply.

    Thanks for your quick reply.

    TPS40170 is a good fit for this application. It is wide input voltage range 4.5V to 60V synchronous PWM BUCK controller and switching frequency 100KHZ to 600KHZ.

    Please check the datasheet let me know for further support.
