Hi,
I am using this chip for RTC backup power. My design has to meet UL1642, according to which my circuit should limit the current flowing into the BR1225 cell to less than 3 mA after any single point of failure.
Given a scenario where the chip fails, would it be possible that the Vdd(3.3V in this case) shorts to Vbat internally to the chip? Does the chip have any built in protection to this case? If not, I would have to put external protection circuitry(diode and a resistor) to protect the battery.
