SN54AC14: Schmitt trigger threshold variation with temperature and life

Part Number: SN54AC14

Dear All,

I have a question that was already asked in the forum which has only been answered in private.

Doing a circuit analysis for a space application involving the 54AC14, we are evaluating the impact on performance due to the variation of the VT+ and VT- thresholds with temperature and life.

The datasheet does not report information about.

Could you please provide some indication?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards

  • Hi Antonio,

Input thresholds for Schmitt-trigger devices can vary due to many factors, none of which are linear or easy to estimate. Typically with long-channel MOSFETs like this, variations due to degradation over the lifetime of the part are small (or non-existent). Unfortunately, I don't have any measured data from the AC family of devices to provide on threshold variation over temperature, and we also don't have any data on how lifetime affects the thresholds.

We can only guarantee that the device will have thresholds within the datasheet min/max specifications. If an application requires more specific threshold details, I would not recommend using this device.
