Hi,
Does SN74AVC4T234 have 26-Ω series resistor on A-side outputs as stated in the Features section of the datasheet?
The simulation result with 10 in trace length, 50 MHz, Vcc = 1.5V using the IBIS model shows more than 0.5V overshoot at the load.
Thanks,
DH
Hi Jack,
When SN74AVC4T234 A side drives SN74AVC4T234 B side with 10 in trace, the output current of SN74AVC4T234 swings between -15 mA to 15 mA. When SN74AVC4T234 A side drives SN74AVC4T234 B side with 0.5 in trace, the output current of SN74AVC4T234 swings between -15 mA to 7 mA.
I ran 10 in trace length, 50 MHz, Vcc = 1.5V with SN74AVCBH164245 (which has output damping resistor per datasheet) driving SN74AVC4T234 B side and I do not see the overshoot.
Regards,
DH
Hey DH,
Let me confirm with the design team to see if the 26Ohm resistor is in fact included in the IBIS model. In the meantime- could you also send over the simulation file so I can see how everything is set up?
Regards,
Jack
Hi Jack,
I am using the HyperLynx for the simulation.
- Both driver and load are SN74AVC4T234.
- 51.7 Ohm, 10 in long trace
- Enable the lossy simulation
Is this part good for translating between 1.5V to 1.8V?
Best Regards,
DH
Hey DH,
Yes this device is capable of translating from 1.5V to 1.8V. Could you please share the schematic + waveforms if possible?
Regards,
Jack
Hey DH,
I will close this thread as I am following up offline.
