Dear,

I am a HW-engineer working at Innogrit. My name Hans Liang.

I have met some level translate(3.3V ~ 1.8V at SMBUS) issues at our enterprise-SSD drives with using TXS0102DQER and TXS0102QDCURQ1.

We found that maybe the one-shot feature cause the failure. Because the low voltage at host is about 0.6V and the VIL at TXS0102 is ≤0.15V. We guess that the 0.6v false triggering the one-shot, then the communication at SMBUS is fail.

Now, my question are below:

1/ Do you have the Pin to Pin samples without one-shot compatible with TXS0102DQER and TXS0102QDCURQ1?

2/ Do you have the Pin to Pin samples with higher VIL, such as 0.6V instead of 0.15V?

we need your emergency help. Our projects are being at a critical schedule.

The 0.15 V value is not a real limit; it is likely that you can use the TXS in your circuit. See [FAQ] Why are the TXS01xx VIH/VIL specifications so stringent?

(But 0.6 V is quite high; I guess that you have external pull-up resistors that are not needed because the TXS already has internal ones.)

Hey Hans,

1.) The LSF0102 contains similar architecture to that of the TXS0102 (both these translators consist of an internal FET, but the LSF lacks the one shot feature). The LSF0102DQE is P2P in terms of size and placement with the TXS0102, but not the functionality of the pins. Note that the DCU package is not P2P however.

2.) See Clemens' answer. Also note that for both the TXS and LSF, there is a direct correlation to the VIL and VOL, therefore the VOL will be even higher then the VIL of 0.6V into the TXS device.

Please share waveforms/ schematic for further debugging as needed.
