SN74GTL2014: High current drawn observed on GTL2014 & SN74AXC8T245

Part Number: SN74GTL2014

Hi,

I used GTL2014 and AXC8T845 from both direction level translator on adaptor board.

IO from silicon to port B of GTL2014 (vref 0.5V) with 71.5ohm PU resistor to 0.91V , port A (3.3V) of GTL2014 direct connect to port A (1.2V) of AXC8T245 and port B of ATX8T245 to connector end.

As I would like to validate this board in standalone without silicon and without receiver end. I terminate both TX and RX with 1Mohm to GND for only 1 bit of IO; others are removed for the PU on GTL port B and remove 0ohm series 0ohm to receiver end. Signal generator is used to pump in signal to only 1 IO bit for validation purpose.

I get no issue from GTL_port B --> GTL_port A --> AXC_port A --> AXC_port B; but from the another direction i get the high current drawn. It is 0.4A per transceiver with 1 IO bit.

Could you comment does it due to Vref drawn high current ? or floating IO for 7 bit ? or due to set up problem for this circuit validation ?

Thanks.
