We are confused on the structure of how pullups are disabled (there are no switching elements), when OE is low.

Can you please provide feedback on this?

Hey JDJ,

The diagrams in schematic show top-level functionality only. When OE is driven low, the internal 10kohm pullups are disabled, as explained in this FAQ .
