SN74LVC1G32: SN74LVC1G32

Part Number: SN74LVC1G32
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AHCT1G32

Tool/software:

Can you confirm what state the output will be of the SN74LVC1G32 when the input is between Vil and Vih?  In this application, Vcc=5V.  So what are the conditions when the input is 3.3V (between 1.5V and 3.5V)?

Below shows our schematic, understand that the this IC is push-pull type, but we’ve had the output pulled to 5V. We noticed from probing that the output from SN74LVC2G126YZP (U33) is being pulled to 5V. then drops to 3.3V. The output from SN74LVC2G34DCKR (U35) was measured as logic “high” at 5V too. We found a similar question from TI Forum, but the answer from there mentions the oscillations with heat/failure would happen around Vcc/2, which our input of 3.3V is way higher than this threshold and slightly below Vih 3.5V of the IC. So far, we have not seen a flipped logic at U35. Can you advise if we can safely use this design? Any risk of flipped logic would occur?
