SN74HC14: Part marking & PCN

Part Number: SN74HC14

Tool/software:

We have been using TI P/N SN74HC14DR and I came across one of your PCN from 2020, PCN 20200629000.1 and I have some questions:

  • Is there anyway to know what DIE a component has or what components have been affected by the PCN by only looking at the TI lot code or component marking?
  • Could we have a list of all TI lot codes affected by this PCN?
  • The TI lot codes define the Assembly Site. For example, correct me if I am wrong, a Ti lot code ending in –HFT has been assembled in HFTFAT (city of Hefei).

If the lot ends in -WDH, which is the assembly site? I don’t see it on the table within the PCN.

  • The -G3 and -G4 suffixes on the marking correspond to the terminal plating linked to J-STD-609? As in -G3 (-E3) for Sn platting and -G4 (-E4) for NiPdAu?

These suffixes, besides the plating, don’t differenciate components with one type of DIE from another, right? (for example from fab sites RFAB or SFAB)

Regards,

Alex

  • The lot codes are not documented. You can see the fab location on the TI shipping label.

The G3/G4 suffixes indeed indicate only the lead finish.

As long as the switchover to the new die has not yet finished, you can get both old and new dies, and there is no way to control this.
