Hi there

Our customer wants to use a channel as both a digital input and a digital output. The digital input side should be 5V tolerant, while the digital output side should be 3.3V. Logic side connected to MCU. MCU pin should be configurable.

Can we use TXB0108 for this function ?

Yes, but only if you respect its many limitations (see section 8.3 of the datasheet).

You should use direction-controlled voltage translators, e.g., SN74LXC1T45, SN74LXC2T45, SN74LXC8T45.
