TXS0104E: push pull

Part Number: TXS0104E

Tool/software:

Hi,

Can you please explain what is mentioned in the datasheet P19, which states it can be either OD or push-pull? Could you clarify this? The driving capability of OD is determined by 10K/VCC, but how can it also be push-pull? Thank you

Jeff

  • Hi Jeff,

The TXS is an open-drain based translator with internal 10kohm pullups, and is capable of supporting both push-pull and open drain driver architectures. Its intended design is to be compatible with auto-bidirectional signals therefore the driving capability is limited. If the intended application is to provide level shift and driving capability for push-pull signals, the TXU0x04 is better suited for this use case.

    Regards,

    Jack

  • The other devices connected to the TXS can have open-drain or push/pull outputs. The TXS itself always has open-drain outputs.
