SN74AVC1T45: Suggest 5V to 3.3 Buffer for Dual Colo LED Logic

Part Number: SN74AVC1T45
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXU0101

Tool/software:

Hi My existing design is as below

I wish to chage the VCCB to 5V from 1.8v, i feel the IC would not work if its done so

For the dual color LED logic to work ,  i need a alternative bi-directional buffer with single input output

Kinldy suggest a best equivalent

  • Hello Shyam,

If you are looking for a 5V, 1-bit level translator, I would recommend the SN74LXC1T45.

    Regards,

    Josh

  • For this application, you do not need direction control, so you could just as well use the unidirectional TXU0101.

  • I have a small doubt here, can the buffers sink current if they are uni-directional ? i felt the reference i took considered bi directional as the multicolor LED logic of sink and source both should happen

I assume datasheet section is well speaking about same

    "7.3.3 Balanced High-Drive CMOS Push-Pull Outputs
A balanced output allows the device to sink and source similar currents. The high drive capability of this device creates fast edges into light loads, so routing and load conditions should be considered to prevent ringing. Additionally, the outputs of this device are capable of driving larger currents than the device can sustain without being damaged. "

  • "Bidirectional" is used to describe the LED, but for a translator, it means that the translator can work in either direction, A to B or B to A.

You need just a push/pull output.
