SN74AXC4T774: Channel skew and part to part variations

Part Number: SN74AXC4T774
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXV0106

Tool/software:

I am currently using the CAXC4T774QRSVRQ1 for level translation between VCCA of 1.5V and VCCB of 1.8V which appears to be a family part of the SN74AXC4T774.  The interface runs at 100MHz for a synchronous NAND part in Mode 5 DDR.  The Channel to channel skew and the device to device skew on tpd is extremely important since it erodes margins?

The part says it can run at 320Mbps through the interface on a 1.8/3.3v translation and I only need to do 200Mbps.  However, if the skew between channels and devices is too large than this will have adverse affects?

From the datasheet Voltage appears to be a significant affect, whereas temperature is not exactly identified.

What are the PVT variations that I can expect?

  • Performance reduces greatly at lower voltages (compare the propagation delays). There are no skew specifications for this device, and the TXV0106/8 does not have them for voltages below 1.8 V.

For a difference of 0.3 V, level translation is probably not needed.
