About CD74HC4511

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CD74HC4511

Dear Sirs

The following figure show the display and function table (datasheet of CD74HC4511).

But there is some issue between display and function table.

Could you help me for the following question?

Display 6: a is high or low?

Display 9: d is high or low?

BRS

Nat

  • Hi Nat,

I'll move your post to Data Converters forum.
If you want to display the 6 like the Display figure, the "a" bit need to be High, but if you set it Low it is still a 6 (The "a" bit is necessary if you need to differ the "6" from the "b").
The same happens with the 9, if you like to display it like the Display figure, the "d" bit need to be High, but if you set it Low it is still a 9.
    Hope this help you.

  • Nat,

Hopefully Ivan has answered your question, but this part is a logic part and I've moved it to the Logic Forum.

Technically this belongs in Logic/Specialty Logic/Encoder, Decoder, Multiplexer.

  • Thanks Joseph. Is there anything else we can help you with Nat?
  • Dear Sirs

    Thank you.

But I want to know the following example.

    When I set input :

    LE/=L

    BL/=H

    LT/=H

    D3=L  D2=H  D1=H  D0=L

The output bit a is "H" or 'L'?

  • Nat,

This is an error on the datasheet.  The 'a' and 'd' outputs highlighted in red are supposed to be H.  This can be verified by following the logic diagram in the datasheet.

We will add this to our list of corrections to be made.  Thank you.

  • Dear Sirs
    My customer test the sample.
Sample test result 'a' and 'd' outputs highlighted in red are L.

    Could you help me?

  • Nat, I'm confused. Are you saying that the datasheet is correct, and you need help explaining that? or that the datasheet is incorrect and we need to fix it? I can order samples of this part and test for myself, but that will take some time.
