Analog switch for RS232/RS422 and RS485 signals

The MUX507 is an 8:1 mux that will switch +/- 15V signals.

Why do you need to have an 8:1 RS232 mux in the application?

What is the power supply rail available for the switch to use?

i am not looking for a Mux but a switch. customer want to switch RS232 pins to GPIO signal, that why they need 8 channel.

customer's end equipment is a motherboard, so basically 3.3V/5V/12V are all available to be the power supply.

Do you mean that you need a device that converts an RS-232 signal into a logic-level signal? If so, you should take a look at these products:

If you can tell me how many of the channels are used for transmit (GPIO-to-RS-232) and how many are used for receive (RS-232-to-GPIO) I can try to help you find the best device to use.

i thought the power supply rail that you were asking is for customer's end equipment. so i just answered 3.3V/5V/12V.
The ±25V is max/min voltage level of RS232, i am not sure what's customer's RS232 device would be.

Yes, i am looking for a Mux which can be able to choose one of two input(GPIO and RS232) to output.

Thanks for your drawing, your picture looks very close to the solution that i am looking for. but one thing i am not sure is the Vdd/Vss range, it looks like the Vdd/Vss must to be the same voltage level as output?

With the TI's current switch portfolio the voltage on the signal path typically needs to be within the Vdd/Vss range. Please let us know if you require a switch where the signal on the I/O path needs to exceed the Vdd/vss range. We would be curious why such a requirement needs to exist so we can create a new part if needed.
