TXS0104E: Using TXS0104 for SPI communication under Long wire condition

Part Number: TXS0104E
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AVC4T774

Hi all,

There is a special application where the SPI wire is nearly 410mm, which is nearly 50pF parasitic capacitance. From Parameter Measurement Information Chapter7 the test circuit load is 15pF.

1. Can TXS0104 work on this condition?

2. If push-poll version can not work, can I use open drain version?

Thanks

  • Hi Jeff,

The TXS device isn't the best option for this as heavy capacitive loads negatively affect the one shots in the device. I would use a device like the SN74AVC4T774 for this application. It will be able to handle this heavy load a lot better. It will also allow you to configure the directions appropriately for SPI.
