MSP432P401R: Error connecting to the target: (Error -261 @ 0x0) Invalid response was received from the XDS110. (Emulation package 9.3.0.00042)

Good day everybody,

I have a problem that occurred after programming my board once. In this first instance it was possible to download the software onto the MCU, at least no error was shown during programming. The first error was that during the debugging session, CCS stated that there is no feedback form the MCU.

After trying to reprogram the device, I get the following error:

Error connecting to the target:
(Error -261 @ 0x0)
Invalid response was received from the XDS110.
(Emulation package 9.3.0.00042)

The JTAG Connection test is valid and returns no error.

Sadly the VCORE voltage is at 63.8 mV what also shouldn't be the case, right?

Do you have the R6 and C13 on your reset pin?

Thanks for the reply! Yes, but instead of the 47kR a 10kR resistor at R6. Could that be the problem?

I changed the resistor to 47kR and still get the same problem.

Well, If the connection on the reset pin is correct and the Vcore is still at low voltage. I am afraid that the chip is broken somehow. You might need to replace the MCU with a new one to try again.

Hi Aaron,

Based on the information you showed here, they look all good. However, it still need to figure out why the chip fails. It might cause by the hardware or some inappropriate behavior.
