TMS570LS3137: TCRAM

Part Number: TMS570LS3137

Dear team,

I have the same question with the following link:

https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/other-microcontrollers-group/other/f/other-microcontrollers-forum/1015781/tms570ls3137-questions-about-chapter-7--pbist-module?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=PBIST%2520ESRAM#

1.According to description in the Chpter 7,"Refer to Table 2-5 for information on the RDS values for each memory." Though the Table 2-5 in the TRM presents the RDS of diffrent RAM Group ,there are no exact information about the meaning of RDS. So, if self-test failed, what's the exact meaning of RDS in the RAM Configuration Register (RAMT)?

2.In the Table 2-5, what's the exact meaning of ESRAM1,ESRAM5,ESRAM6,ESRAM8?Are they the RAM of some module? If so, please tell me the exact module and their corresponding relation. And, Why there are no grouping of TCRAM?

3.How to clear the Failed Status Count (FSRC)/Address (FSRA)/Data (FSRDL) register?

  • Hello Susan,

    1. RGS stands for RAM Group Select, is a RAM memory section from one address to another. RDS is Return Data Select. A RAM bank can have a wide memory width, so the data path can divided into several RDS.

    2. Those are sections of MCU SRAM. The memory range of MCU SRAM is from 0x08000000 to 0x0803FFFF

         ESRAM1: Address 0x08000000 - 0x0800FFFF
         ESRAM5: Address 0x08010000 - 0x0801FFFF
         ESRAM6: Address 0x08020000 - 0x0802FFFF
         ESRAM8: Address 0x08030000 - 0x0803FFFF

    3. Those are read-only registers, and can not be cleared except system reset.
