TMS570LS3137: Some Questions about SRAM Diagnose

Part Number: TMS570LS3137

hi,As shown in the figure below, are the three SRAM diagnoses marked in yellow in the picture for the diagnosis of permanent failure of SRAM, and what is their diagnostic coverage of permanent failure of SRAM?

Because we consider that the periodic diagnosis of PBIST is too complicated, and I would like to ask whether there are other diagnostic methods for permanent failures?

Thanks a lot for reply ,and best regards.

  • Hi Xiaohong,

First, please check with your assessor. The assessor may request a periodic BIST execution to detect accumulated latent faults for a system which will run for long periods of time without a startup/shutdown sequence. Lockstep and ECC only check the resources which are currently being used. If you have a SW function which is rarely using a RAM space, then there is some possibility to accumulate faults which would not be detected until you used the resource. If you don't have this kind of function or code, It is fine to not perform periodic PBIST test.
