Hello QJ Wang,

I am working on the CAN MCAL driver code as well as the Flexray driver. The MCAL drivers were supplied to DCS corp under NDA about 1 month ago.

I am trying to include and build these drivers into an existing project. I see they use some configuration files which have a .xdm extension. These files cannot be opened with Adobe. It seems they need a specialized application.

Do you have any insight as to how to configure and build these drivers? If you are not the correct person for this question, could you put me in touch with someone who is familiar with the process?

Hi David,

The TI MCAL uses EB (Elektrobit) Tresos for configuration of MCAL modules. The MCAL module’s ECU parameter definition is captured in EB xdm format. The configuration of the MCAL modules can be done using the EB Tresos Configuration Editor. Once the configuration is complete, code can be generated for supported variants of the drivers.

Hi QJ Wang,

I checked the website from where I downloaded the MCAL driver software. There was no link, or ability to download the Tresos tool. Without this tool we are unable to make any progress. Can you help me get access to the tool?

On a separate issue - I am also working on getting the Flexray drivers working. My current setup is only 2 nodes on the network. The Flexray example code has default values: NODE_TOTAL = 25, and SYNC_NODE = 8. When I reset one of the nodes, there is a burst of network traffic for about 3/4 of a second, then the bus stops. I'm assuming these are "startup" or "Sync" cycles. I changed both of these definitions to 2, as I have only 2 nodes on my network. Now there is a much shorter burst of bus traffic before it stops. Is there any documentation on how to configure the 570 Flexray hardware for a given bus architecture?
