The DCAN2 is not transmitting anything, never, yet it's PSPWRDWNSET bit is being cleared.

To put it even simpler: After reset, I read the PSPWRDWNSET - it is set, I send some messages from an independent, external probe, I read the PSPWRDWNSET - it is cleared - WHY?

After power down request (PSPWRDWNSETx in the PCR) is done, the DCAN waits until a bus idle state is recognized. Then it will automatically set the Init bit to indicate that the global power down mode has been entered.

If another CAN node on the CAN network is keeping transmitting message, and bus idle state may not be recognized, and the Init (CTL register) will not be set.

Your workaround (set SWR bit) can set the powerdown bit (PCR). There is another issue: when SWR is set, one pulse will be generated on CAN bus.
