Dual-mode Bluetooth with CC2564 and MSP432E4

Has anyone tried connecting and running the sample applications found in the Dual-Mode Bluetooth Stack on MSP432 MCUs (CC256XMS32BTBLESW) using the CC2564MODNEM eval board and the MSP-EXP432E401Y LaunchPad dev kit? If so, can you please provide some details on how you've set it up (jumper configurations, connections, etc) so that I could run the sample apps.

The CC256XMS32BTBLESW User guide online lists the following HW as required for complete evaluation:

MSP-EXP432P401R (obsolete)
CC256XCQFN-EM (out-of-stock)

Since I couldn't get the exact HW above, I replaced it with what's currently available, i.e., MSP-EXP432E401Y and CC2564MODNEM. I do have the BOOST_CCEMADAPTER board but need some info on how to connect the boards.

I don't believe we have a Dual Mode Bluetooth plug-in for the MSP430E4, but I'm going to move this thread to the Bluetooth forum as they would know better and they may also have other Bluetooth solutions that could meet your needs.

I know that the CC2564 BT module is older so I really would like to know if it's possible to run the BT Classic examples on the newer (and available) EVMs.

Although you do not have the recommended/ideal hardware setup, it should be possible to interact between these devices given minor project modifications.

If you don't need BT Classic then you could consider the CC2640R2F device using LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2 hardware and SIMPLELINK-SDK-BLUETOOTH-PLUGIN software solution.

Hi Ryan,

Does the CC2640R2F support BT Classic? I've looked at its Datasheet and it seems to be geared for IoT applications. The BT Classic profiles I need are A2DP, AVRCP, HSP, and HFP. It doesn't look like the CC2640 supports these. Can you confirm?

With regards to the HW setup that I have, it looks like I will need the CC2564CMSP432BTBLESW ported for the MSP432E401Y MCU. Do you know if this is available within TI or elsewhere, e.g., GitHub, etc? If not, is there a porting guide or any documentation available?
