Hi,

I'd like to check which Flash protocol are supported by the OSPI interface of AM2431 among 1) Hyperbus/Infineon, 2) Octabus/MXIC, 3) Xccela/Micron. Are they all supported. Do you have a specific register setting for each protocol to specify which Flash is connected to the SoC?

Hi Alex,

AM2431 supports 1s-1s-1s all the protocols to 8d-8d-8d irrespective of the vendor.

Let me come back to you on this. Although the software stack delivered by TI to configure FSS has a very versatile support to change the same.

Hi Aakash,

Do you have any exemple of set up with Xccela flash for AM24... (for exemple Micron NOR MT35X...)

I've seen some training related to this Xccela or OctaRAM format for the AM65x, I'm wondering if any thing applicable to AM24...

Hi Alex,

TI's SDK comes with a limited number of flash memories to be supported right out of the box. If you would like to add support for a specific flash device, then you will have to follow the guide to add support on the SDK:

AM243x MCU+ SDK: Adding Support For a Custom Flash Device (ti.com)

Our flash support is not based on a specific value of a register but rather the metadata that is contained within our API at the time of release. The guide linked above is generic for flash devices so you should be able to follow it to add the support that you are looking for.

If this SDK doesn't cover Micron Xccela Flash (MT35X.....) example, would you have another one to recommend (for example with AM65 ot other...) which could be used as a reference to create a new device in the AM243x with limited change?

Hi Alex,

It doesn't look like there is anything out of the box on the SDK for the Xccela Flash. However, I was able to find a thread on a similar issue on TDA4VM which i hope you will find useful:

It is not a 1:1 translation to AM243x since they are different devices but the general concept should be the same. You can use the previously linked SDK guide along with this to create support for the flash.

Please don't hesitate in asking another question if you run into issues with the SysConfig tool or the SDK.
