LP-AM243: Ethernet boot or USB DFU SPI flash

Part Number: LP-AM243

Hi,

I am currently evaluating LP-AM243. It lists ethernet and usb boot in the datasheet but apparently there are some limitations.

1. Ethernet boot: I noticed Errata i2331, is it correct there is noway to boot or deploy system image through ethernet?

2. USB-DFU: Is it possible to deploy system image through USB on the SPI flash?

In the SDK i could only find UART/JTAG deploy so would like to confirm these are only options and what will be available in the future.

best regards,

Tom

  • Hi Tom,

You are correct. Currently, the ROM bootloader does not support Ethernet boot properly. And the ROM bootloader only load and run the boot image from USB. It does not support the USB DFU which requires the ROM bootloader or the SBL_USB (secondary bootloader for USB) to be able to update the flash.

At this point the only bootloading methods supported are UART and OSPI bootloading

    Best regards,

    Ming

  • Is there any timeline when those both options will become available?

  • Hi Tom,

I do not think there is a timeline for supporting those features.

    Best regards,

    Ming
