TMDSEMU110-U: XDS110 seems to be bricked, need help resetting the device

Part Number: TMDSEMU110-U
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: RM48L952, HALCOGEN

Hello.

I can't find the correct forum for this question so I'm putting this here.

It seems my XDS110 debug probe is bricked.

I am using mcu RM48L952 and was trying to migrate project to IAR EWARM. After creating EWARM code in halcogen and set up basic test code I launched "download and debug" in EWARM. Then it threw error that XDS110 firmware needs to be updated. At first I tried to ignore it because CCS 7.0(which I use) worked fine so far without update but EWARM wouldn't progress further without update so I agreed to update. Then it threw firmware update failed error.

Since then my PC is not recognizing XDS110 anymore. "xdsdfu.exe -e" command shows "Found 0 devices". Cable is probably fine, it recognizes Atmel-ICE debugger without problem. So I concluded the debugger is bricked.

I found in XDS110 Debug Probe (ti.com) - troubleshooting - flashing the bootloader, you can flash the bootloader by connecting TDO to ground. I wonder if that means factory-reseting the device? Also I'm not sure if I got pins to short correct so I got the image as I understood:

In summary,

1. Is there any other ways to check if my device is truly bricked or not?

2. Does flashing the bootloader mean resetting the device?

3. Are pins that I checked in red circles correct ones to short?

Thank you.
