Dear all,
During testing of our application (position and speed motor control with PMSM and optical encoder) we are confident that we observed a very similar issue reported in SPRZ362D/Revised March 2016, TMS320F2805x Piccolo MCU Silicon Errata, for easy access a screen shot is provided below. We currently in our application we account tin the implementation for +/- 5 quad counts ( with QEPCTL[PCRM] = 00).
Is it possible that this silicon bug is present in TMS570LS1227 though not documented in the applicable erratas (I think SPNZ199F/Revised May 2016 and SPNZ218C/revised March 2016)?
Thanks a lot for your time and support.
Best regards,
Luis

Hi Luis,
Apologies for the delay in response
Reassigned to expert on this module. Please wait for his reply.
Hi Luis,
TMS570LS12x uses the same eQEP IP as TMS320F2x devices. The eQEP HW bug found on C2x applies to TMS570LS12x devices too. Thank you for pointing this out.
Hi QJ Wang,
Thanks for this very important clarification.
Is there any change a new TMS570LS12x errata or any official TI document will be issued to report this HW bug? I am asking because it is very important to show official proof to our customer to complement your reply in this post.
Thanks four your time and support.
With my best regards,
Luis
Hi Luis,
I will check if this bug report has been filed and verified or not. I am not sure if we have any plan this year to update the errata for TMS570LS12x devices.
