Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH
Hi Team,
There's an issue from the customer need your help:
Hello, when we use the MSP432E401Y LaunchPad development kit combined with the Scalable PMICs GUI to test and verify the TSP6593Q1, we first connect the USB cable to the XDS110 end and then download the XDS110 driver and install it. The computer device manager can correctly identify the serial port of the XDS110 end.
Later, I learned from the English forum and other posts that the firmware needs to be programmed for the MSP432E401Y chip through the XDS110 port, so I programmed the firmware version 1.0.3.6 for the MSP432E401Y through UNIFlash, and its memory can be accessed normally through the UNIFlash software, as shown below:
After downloading the firmware, you need to plug the USB cable into U7, which is the USB port close to the MSP432E401Y chip side, and switch JP1 to middle conduction and external power supply 3.3V, as shown in the figure below:
Theoretically, a Virtual com port will appear in the computer's device manager for other devices, and then the Scalable PMICs GUI software will read the hardware platform. However, the computer device manager will not respond, and the host computer will not be able to read the hardware normally.
After current measurements, the hardware power supply voltage is normal, the chip can heat up normally, the crystal oscillator can start oscillating normally, and the XDS110 can be used to access the chip memory and Flash. No hardware problems have been found yet.
The solutions that have been tried so far are:
1. Connect the USB cable to both ends at the same time
2. Disconnect the power supply to the XDS110 part when the MSP432E401Y is powered.
3. Use an external 5V voltage regulator for power supply
4. Try changing computers
5. Replace the installed version of Scalable PMICs GUI software to the web version
6. Re-program 1.0.3.6 firmware
7. Use network cable to connect
8. Replace the USB data cable
None of them can solve this problem. In fact, after burning the firmware and changing the USB cable connection for the first time, the Virtual com port briefly appeared in other devices in the computer device manager bar, but it seemed to be unstable. After about a few days, It disappears after a few minutes and has not reappeared successfully since then. Is there any way to solve this problem? Thanks.
Best Regards,
Ben
