Hi,
In my application I am using all 16 channels of the 2 ADC modules, in sequence conversion mode and auto sampling mode.

I would like to trigger the start sampling of both the ADC directly by a timer event.

I wrote the code by starting from the adc12_truggered_by_timer_event_example but it doesn't seem work. Can you help me?

Have you tried using the link coordinator to do this automatically? You would publish to the event from the Timer peripheral, and you would subscribe the trigger source of the ADC to that same event. You can do what you want without writing any code!

As Jason said, you will want to utilize the Event system for this. There are even a handful of event channels that can have two subscribers which is exactly what you want. I believe those channels are 12-15. So in Sysconfig, you will enable events, and have your chosen Timer publish to channel 12 let's say. Then on each of your ADC instances, have your trigger be an event, and have both ADC's subscribe to channel 12.

Thanks to both of you for the reply. I tried the event approach, but unfortunately I don't know why the event doesn't seem to trigger the two ADCs. I have shared the updated version of the code. Is there anything else to configure?

In your Sysconfig file, make sure you have the event settings shown below for the Timer you are using and the ADC.

Hi Jace,
I already configured this parameters on my previous shared code.

The only difference is that I configured the "Sequence" instead of Single acquisition mod.

Could it be related to that?

Stefano,

If you did sequence, then each trigger should make you go through the sequence. How are you checking if the ADC has finished?
In either case, you can also start from this code example, which already implements Timer triggered, simultaneous sampling, and modify the ADC parameters to fit your needs.

Hi Jase, I tested the ADC timing using interrupt triggers on the " DMA done " and found a period of around 3.6 us. For this reason I chose 5 to have confidence. I tried with the other code but I don't know, when I set the ADC parameters something goes wrong and they produce no results.

Stefano,

At this point I would recommend working off the example to fit your needs, and if you want to explore what is not working on your original project, then you can do a diff on the Sysconfig generated .c and .h files to see what settings are different.
