AM2434: OSPI flash selection: Must OSPI flash have an INT# pin?

Part Number: AM2434

Hello,

I am planning to use the TI AM2434 chip for a new project and would like to know if the OSPI flash I have chosen will work with the TI SoC.

For the AM2434, there is a list of recommended OSPI flash in sprt764.pdf.

I have chosen the MT35XU512ABA1G12-0AAT. However, I later discovered that this flash doesn't have the interrupt INT# pin. It appears to be optional.

My question is: Will this flash work with the AM2434 and FreeRTOS? Will performance be degraded in any way?

Thanks!

Oleksandr

  • Hi Oleksandr,

Please request a full datasheet from the vendor and check off the different items from sprt764. The compatibility list is to be used just as reference and it is going through some updates currently based on new information we have found, so please check for the requirements being met with the flash datasheet.

    Best,

    Daniel

  • I've already read the sprt764, and there's nothing mentioned about the interrupt, so I decided to ask this question. Do you know if the INT# pin is required when connecting OSPI flash to TI AM2434?

  • Hi Oleksandr,

The interrupt pin is not necessary for correct operation and it stands as optional, as long as the device supports the standard control signals it should be good.

    Best,
