Hi,

I'm contacting you again because I'm working on the production of boards that mount MSPM0L1305 and I'm encountering programming issues.

To program the microcontroller, i use MSP-GANG Programmer with MSP-Gang-GUI last revision D430: 01.03.08.00.

The boards are externally powered and some microcontroller appear to be non-programmable, showing error 23

Do you have any suggestions to solve the issue? It's not a problem with cables, power supply, or soldering.

It seems like the microcontroller is locked.

It may help you. You are saying that there are no short circuits or power supply issues. But I recommend checking those again. You can use a multimeter or make a PCB tester for present and future uses: www.pcbway.com/.../Miniature_PCB_Tester_c2b226d2.html

Thank you, but I didn't find any useful information to solve the problem in that thread. They discuss MSP430 with programming through JTAG, while I have MSPM0 with SWD programming.

Regarding the boards, they are assembled by machine, and out of 50 pieces, 15 microcontrollers are non-functional, while the remaining 35 are working.

They all underwent the same production process.

If it's a microcontroller lock issue due to incomplete/incorrect writing to the flash, is there any way to unlock the flash?

It seems like the MCU is not connected. So Mattero, could you please check if the MCU is connected first?

To unlock MCU, please try to do factory resetFactory reset.pdf

It is reported as above that there are 15 out of 50 microcontrollers that cannot be written.

Could you share me the cause?

My customer has a concern because when in mass production, this occurrence rate will be a major problem.

Hi Kenley,

The cause could be related to the programming wiring or a lack of power during the flash writing. However, all the microcontrollers were recovered with the procedure indicated by Zoey.

In order to prevent any similar issues on customers side, could you share the details on the issue ?

Is there a problem with the power supply from MSP-Gang?
