MSP432E401Y: Microcontroller Lifecycle and Support

Part Number: MSP432E401Y
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP432E411Y, , MSP430FR5994

Hello,

I've used the MSP432E401Y and MSP432E411Y a few times in the past, however, I've noticed on the main page for the MSP432E401Y that it now only has "limited design support" for "existing designs".

What exactly is meant by this? Will the device go EOL within a year or so? I've noticed that this disclaimer does not appear on the MSP430FR5994's page (my other favorite TI microcontroller). If this device does not have full support, could someone please offer a good TI substitute microcontroller with 10/100 Ethernet (or better)? Ideally, it has a good library of example software and supports TI-RTOS or FreeRTOS just like the MSP432E series.

Thank you,

Joseph

  • Hi Joseph,

MSP432E is still supported and there is no plan to EOL this device at all. As a matter of fact, MSP432E and it sister device TM4C129 will be available and supported for a very long while.
