Hello,

I want to use interface register IF1 for transmitting DCAN1 messages using DMA and IF2 for receiving DCAN1 messages using DMA.
Could you please provide the sample code for initializing the DMA, IF1 and IF2 registers?

I encountered a thread suggesting there's no advantage in using DMA with IF1 and IF2. Is this correct? If so, I'd appreciate a detailed explanation. Additionally, is IF3 solely for receiving messages and not for transmission?

Hi Karthik,

1. The DCAN IF1/IF2 data registers are protected and are not written in user mode, but DMA register access is performed in user mode, so DMA can not write data to IF1/IF2 data registers.

2. To receive data with DMA, the IF3 is recommended.

I wanted to receive CANA messages, specifically from two mailboxes with different CAN message IDs, using DMA and IF3. However, my current Halcogen version (04.07.01) lacks DMA initialization settings. Is it feasible for you to share a sample code for TMS570LC4357 for this scenario?
